Each capsule of Red Yeast Rice + Coenzyme Q10 provides per capsule: 59.6 mg of red yeast, of which 2.98 mg total monacolins and 2.33 mg monacolin K. It also provides 33.3 mg of coenzyme Q10.
Properties of red yeast rice:
Red rice yeast is obtained as a result of a process of fermenting rice with a yeast, the most common yeast used those of the genus Monascus.
During the development of this process, the formation of different compounds takes place, one of the most prominent being monacolins. Monacolins have the ability to lower blood lipid levels (lipid-lowering activity).
Monacolin K acts on the enzymes which are part of the cholesterol synthesis process, resulting in a reduction in blood cholesterol levels.
It should be borne in mind that as a result of its fermentative nature, a substance called citrinin is generated, which is important to control, as it can have harmful effects on the body.
