Heartcare is a supplement formulated with Cursol turmeric, berberine, red yeast rice, coenzyme Q10 and policosanols. Heartcare helps control plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

There is currently a high prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. It is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some general recommendations for this are as follows:

  • Follow a diet low in saturated fat
  • Eliminate the consumption of toxic substances such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Engage in regular physical exercise.
  • It may be useful for people who, despite their lifestyle habits and pharmacological treatment, have not yet achieved a sufficient reduction in plasma C-LDL and/or triglyceride levels.
  • People who are taking statins and/or ezetimibe and who, despite being close to their target LDL and/or triglyceride levels, continue to have out-of-range values.
  • It may be useful for elderly patients or patients with sarcopenia.

The properties of the ingredients in HeartCare:

Turmeric (Cursol ®):

Turmeric is a plant used for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It has the Cursol patent,

Curcumin is a polyphenol found in the root of turmeric. Turmeric supplementation may have a direct effect on cholesterol levels, as well as helping to regulate different oxidative stress markers.

Berberine:
Berberine is the active compound in the plant called Berberis Vulgaris. Berberine is considered a supplement that considerably reduces metabolic and cardiovascular risk.

It acts at the hepatic level on certain proteins responsible for degrading different LDL cholesterol receptors, promoting an intestinal reduction in cholesterol absorption, as well as an increase in fatty acid oxidation.

Red yeast rice (standardized in monacolin k):

Red yeast rice has demonstrated benefits for high cholesterol levels, since one of its active compounds, monacolin K, acts on the enzymes involved in cholesterol synthesis.

Coenzyme Q10:

Coenzyme Q10 acts as an antioxidant, provides protection to LDL cholesterol and prevents aging.  In addition, since taking monacolin k may increase the risk of myalgia due to coenzyme Q10 depletion.

Policosanols:

Policosanols act on the enzymes involved in cholesterol synthesis and allow blood cholesterol to be reduced.
